Phone Games You Can Play Anywhere

We dig through the app stores so you don't have to, focusing on games that run fully offline. RPGs, puzzles, simulators, racers — if it works on a plane or a dead subway platform, we've probably tested it. Every review here comes from someone who actually finished a few hours of play. FISHIN' FRENZY — A laid-back fishing game about timing, patience and slowly upgrading your gear.

Why us

We Actually Play

Every review is based on real hours of play, not a trailer or a store description. If we didn't finish enough to judge it, we don't publish.

Offline Verified

We put phones into airplane mode and check whether the game still runs. Anything that secretly needs a connection gets flagged.

No Paid Placements

Nobody buys a spot on our list. The order and the scores come from the editorial team and nothing else.

Ember of Thanor
RPG

Ember of Thanor

★★★★★ 4.7

Ember of Thanor is the kind of RPG that feels like it belongs on a handheld console. You lead a small party across a dying kingdom, and the turn-based battles reward planning over reflexes. Each character has a clear role, and swapping skills before a tough fight is half the fun.

  • Deep turn-based combat with meaningful builds
  • Strong writing and memorable companions
  • Fully offline with local saves

Questions & answers

How do you choose which games to review?

We start with curiosity and one firm rule: the game has to run fully offline after installation. From there we rotate between genres so the site doesn't turn into an endless list of the same thing. If enough readers ask about a game, it jumps up our list.

Do you get paid to write reviews?

No. Nobody pays us for a review or for a higher score, and there are no sponsored placements dressed up as editorial. When we tested FISHIN' FRENZY, for example, we simply downloaded it and played, same as any reader would.

How can I suggest a game?

Just email us with the name and, if you can, where you found it. We read every suggestion even when we can't get to it quickly. Offline games we haven't heard of are especially welcome.

Is there advertising on the site?

We may run light, non-intrusive ads to help cover hosting, but they never affect our scores or which games we cover. Editorial and advertising stay completely separate here.
